Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

PoopTracker is built for sensitive gut-health journaling. Bowel movements, symptoms, notes, photos, and trends can be deeply personal, so the app is designed to store your journal on your device by default and to avoid advertising-based tracking.

Who is responsible for this policy

PoopTracker is operated by the app developer. For privacy questions, support, or deletion requests that involve support emails, contact andychung.cc@gmail.com.

Information you choose to record

The app may store information you enter, such as bowel movement time, Bristol Stool Scale type, color, amount, effort, urgency, symptom tags, notes, reminders, settings, and optional photos. PoopTracker does not require you to create an account or provide an email address to use the app.

Local storage, iCloud, photos, and exports

  • By default, records are stored locally in the app data on your device.
  • If you enable iCloud sync, records may sync between your devices through your Apple iCloud account. iCloud storage and account security are controlled by Apple and your device settings.
  • Optional photo attachments are part of your personal journal. Depending on your device and iCloud settings, Apple services may back up or sync those files.
  • When you export CSV or PDF files, those files leave the app sandbox and are controlled by where you save or share them.

Website and support information

This website is hosted by Netlify. Like most hosting providers, Netlify may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver the site, maintain security, and prevent abuse. If you email support, we receive the email address, message content, attachments, and any details you choose to include.

How information is used

App records are used to show your history, calendar, health score, trends, reminders, exports, and other features you request. Support emails are used to answer your message, troubleshoot issues, improve the product, and keep records needed for security or abuse prevention.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your bowel-health records. The app is designed without third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs. Data may be processed by Apple when you use App Store purchases, iCloud, iOS backups, notifications, or other Apple services. Data may also be processed by service providers needed to host this website or handle support email.

Purchases and subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store. We do not receive your full payment card number. Apple may provide limited transaction information needed to unlock premium features, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and manage subscriptions.

Retention and deletion

Your in-app records remain on your device, in your backups, or in your iCloud account until you delete them, delete the app, change sync settings, or remove related iCloud data. Exported files must be deleted wherever you saved or shared them. Support emails may be retained as long as needed to respond, maintain business records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.

Security

PoopTracker relies on Apple platform protections, device passcodes, iCloud security, and the security of your device. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so please protect your device, Apple ID, exported files, and email account.

Children and family records

PoopTracker may be used by parents or caregivers to record bowel movements for a child or family member. Use it only when you have the right to manage that information, and be careful when sharing exported files or support emails that include another person’s health details.

International processing

Apple, Netlify, email providers, and other infrastructure providers may process technical or support information in countries other than your own. Their processing is governed by their own terms, policies, and applicable law.

Medical note

PoopTracker is a tracking and self-awareness tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. If you notice persistent changes, pain, blood, unexplained weight changes, or symptoms that concern you, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app, website, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date shows when this page was last revised.
